The annual Dorchester Lions Club Fun Run was another recent event covered live by Ridgeway Radio. The several hundred runners who take part are sponsored to complete either a 2 or 5 mile course and the proceeds go to local charities. The whole programme was broadcast from a mobile studio using our radio link and featured commentary on the start and finish with interviews with the competitors and organisers. It's a popular local event and the broadcast was designed to bring some of the atmosphere to patients in hospital.
...And again in '99...
This year, as well as providing live coverage from the Fun Run, we entered our own team and raised some money for the station. Believe or not this lot ran 2 miles - and two came 1st and 2nd in their age group! Well Done Darren and Richard.
